संक्षिप्त परिचय-घाघरा नदी के दक्षिणी तट पर बसा आजमगढ़ उत्तर प्रदेश का मुख्य जिला है. आजमगढ़ का प्रशासनिक मुख्यालय लखनऊ-बलिया राजमार्ग पर है, जो जिले से 269 किलोमीटर दूर है. आज़मगढ़ मंडल में तीन जिले आज़मगढ़, मऊ और बलिया शामिल हैं. राज्य के पूर्वी जिलों में से एक आजमगढ़ मुख्य रूप से तमसा नदी के तट पर स्थित है. ऐतिहासिक परिप्रेक्ष्य- आजमगढ़ प्राचीन कोसल राज्य का एक हिस्सा था. जिले के उत्तर-पूर्वी हिस्से को छोड़कर जिला मल्ल राज्य में शामिल था. कोसल भगवान बुद्ध के समय में उत्तर भारत के चार शक्तिशाली राज्यों में प्रमुख था. कोसल राज्य गंगा और पूर्व में मगध के राज्य से घिरा था. उत्तर-पूर्व में लिच्छवि के राज्य क्षेत्रों से और उत्तर में शाक्य प्रदेशों से घिरा था. साथ ही पश्चिम में सुरसेना से और दक्षिण की ओर अपनी राजधानी के रूप में कौशांबी के साथ घिरा हुआ था. जिला अपनी ऐतिहासिकता का कोई साक्ष्य या प्रमाण नहीं देता जिससे यह जिला कितना पौराणिक है, इसकी पुष्टी नहीं की जा सकती है. भौगोलिक परिदृश्य- Read more...

संक्षिप्त परिचय पवित्र रामगंगा नदी के तट पर बसा बरेली उत्तर- प्रदेश के प्रमुख महानगरों में से एक है. यह जिला बरेली मंडल के अंतर्गत आता है. क्षेत्रफल के दृष्टिकोण से बरेली काफी विस्तृत जिला है, जो कि भारत के सबसे बड़े शहरों में 50वें स्थान पर है. व्यावसायिक दृष्टिकोण से भी यह जिला काफी महत्वपूर्ण है, साथ ही कई प्रकार के लघु व कुटीर उद्योगों को विकसित करने व बरकरार रखने में भी इस जिले का अहम योगदान है. वहीं विशेष रूप से यह जिला लकड़ी के फर्नीचर के निर्माण व ज़री की कारीगरी के लिए प्रसिद्ध है. इसके अलावा यह उ.प्र. का चौथा ऐसा जिला है, जहां सीएनजी फ्यूल स्टेशन मौजूद हैं. ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि ऐतिहासिक आधार पर बरेली का महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है. हिन्दू महाकाव्य महाभारत में भी इस जिले का उल्लेख है, जिसके आधार पर पाण्डवों की पत्नी व भगवान श्री कृष्ण की मुंहबोली बहन द्रौपदी का जन्म इसी क्षेत्र में हुआ था. पुरातत्वविदों के अनुसार, जिले का इतिहास ग्यारहवीं शताब्दी के आस- पास का है तथा बरेली के गुप्तकाल से जुड़े होने के भी कई प्रमाण मिले हैं. संक्षिप्त परिचय – पवित्र गंगा और घागरा नदी के संगम पर बसा बलिया जिला उत्तर- प्रदेश के प्राचीनतम जिलों में से एक है. इसे प्रदेश के सबसे पुराने जिले के रूप में भी जाना जाता है. यह वर्तमान में आजमगढ़ मंडल के अंतर्गत आता है तथा बलिया शहर जिले का मुख्यालय है. सूबे के उत्तरी- पूर्वी भाग में स्थित यह जिला बिहार की सीमा से जुड़ा हुआ है. बलिया रामायण के रचनाकार महर्षि वाल्मिकी का निवास- स्थान रहा है. वहीं इसे महर्षि भृगु की जन्म व कर्मभूमि भी कहा जाता है. इसके अलावा मंगल पांडे व तारकेश्वर पांडे समेत कई स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की जन्मस्थली होने का गौरव भी इस जिले को प्राप्त है. आजादी के लड़ाई में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने के कारण जिले को ‘बागी बलिया’ भी कहा जाता है. ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि – जिले के नाम को लेकर अलग- अलग किवदन्तियां प्रचलित हैं. कुछ लोगों को कहना है कि महर्षि वाल्मिकी यहां निवास करते थे, जिस कारण उनके नाम के आधार पर जिले का नाम बलिया पड़ा. वहीं कुछ अन्य लोगों का मानना है कि यहां रेत बह Read more...
