संक्षिप्त परिचय- गोमती नदी के किनारे उत्तर प्रदेश की राजधानी लखनऊ के पास स्थित जिला हरदोई शाहजहांपुर और लखीमपुर खीरी के दक्षिण किनारे पर स्थित है. क्षेत्र की पश्चिम सीमा पर कानपुर (औद्योगिक नगरी) और फर्रुखाबाद को छूती हैं. द्वापर का तीर्थस्थल नैमिषारण्य तीर्थ 45 किमी दूर स्थित है. ऐतिहासिक परिप्रेक्ष्य- इतिहास के पन्नों को पलटें तो जिला हिरण्यकश्यप संबंधित है, जो इसके पहले के नाम “हरिदो” का एक विकृत संस्करण है। कुछ लोगों का मानना है कि क्षेत्र का विकास हरदेव बक्स द्वारा करवाया गया था, जिसके कारण जिले के एक इलाके का नाम हरदेवगंज भी है. संडीला, रुइया, पिहानी, मालवा, शाहाबाद जिले के पास स्थित हैं, जो अपनी ऐतिहासिकता के लिए जाने जाते हैं. इतिहासकारों का मानना है, कि मालवा की जड़ें बौद्ध धर्म से बढ़ी हैं. वहीं कुछ मानते हैं, कि सैयद सलर मसूद गाजी यहां आए थे. मालवा पहले यहां का हेडक्वाटर हुआ करता था. पिहानी फारसी शब्द पिहानी से व्युत्पन्न है. यह माना जाता है, कि जब वह सदरखान के शेरशाह सूरी सम्राट अकबर से हार गए थे, तब मु Read more...
