संक्षिप्त परिचय -   कई सारी खूबसूरत झीलों से सुसज्जित नैनीताल जिला भारत में ‘झीलों के जिले’ के रूप में मशहूर होने के साथ ही अपनी प्राकृतिक सुंदरता एवं संसाधनों के लिए विश्व भर में प्रसिद्ध है। जो की हिमालय पर्वत श्रंखला में एक चमकदार गहने की तरह है। जिले के चारों ओर से पहाडियों से घिरी हुई ‘नैनी झील’ इन झीलों में सबसे प्रमुख झील है । वहीं नैनीताल मुख्यतः दो तरह के भू भागो में बटा हुआ है जिसके एक ओर पहाड़ तथा दूसरी ओर तराई भावर आते हैं । नैनीताल जिले के कुछ मुख्य पर्यटक स्थलों में नैनीताल, हल्दानी कालाढूंगी, रामनगर, भवाली, भीमताल, नौकुचियाताल, सातताल, रामगढ तथा मुक्तेश्वर शामिल हैं । नैनीताल की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता अद्भुत, विस्मयकारी तथा सम्मोहित करने वाली है। बता दे कि नैनीताल शहर जनपद का मुख्यालय भी यही पर स्थित है। इसके साथ ही यह उत्तराखंड राज्य के कुमायु मंडल का मंडल मुख्यालय है। जहां उत्तराखंड राज्य का उच्च न्यायालय भी नैनीताल जिले में ही बना हुआ है।   ऐतिहासिक  पृष्ठभूमि -    Read more...

संक्षिप्त परिचय -  उत्तराखंड के उधम सिंह जिले को 'भोजन का कटोरा’ और ‘चावल की नगरी’ के रूप में जाना जाता है, जिसे जिले के नाम पर रखा गया। उधमसिंह नगर पहले नैनीताल जिले में था। लेकिन अक्टूबर 1995 में इसे अलग जिला बना दिया गया। इस जिले का नाम स्वर्गीय उधम सिंह के नाम पर रखा गया है। जिले का मुख्यालय रुद्रपुर में स्थित है, जिसके बारे में कहा जाता है कि इसका नाम एक आदिवासी प्रमुख राजा रुद्र चंद्र के नाम पर पड़ा था। इतिहास के अनुसार, 1588 में, मुगल सम्राट अकबर ने यह भूमि राजा रुद्र को सौंप दी, जिन्होंने तराई को लगातार आक्रमणों से मुक्त कराने के इरादे से एक सैन्य शिविर स्थापित किया। एक बड़े पैमाने पर औद्योगिक और कृषि जिला, उधम सिंह नगर अक्टूबर 1995 में एक अलग जिले की पहचान पाने से पहले नैनीताल जिले का एक हिस्सा था।   ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि -    इतिहासकारो के मुताबिक, सैकड़ों साल पहले गांव रूद्रपुर को भगवान रूद्र के एक भक्त या रुद्र नाम के हिंदू आदिवासी प्रम Read more...
