RTI activist Raman Sharma is missing since sep 26 2015 (two months ago) .His family alleges he was kidnapped from Rajiv chowk and have demanded a thorough probe into his disappearance . They have also demanded a written guarantee from the police to the national human rights commission that the investigations will be impartial and transparent.
Before Mr Sharma went missing he had sent emails to the hon. president of India, Prime minister ,chief minister, DGP Haryana claiming some HUDA engineers had connived with a contractor in a Rs 1,200-crore fraud in construction of master stormwater and sewage drains.
This July, he had approached the lokayukta for an investigation into third party inspection certificates allegedly issued for advance dates to a HUDA contractor.The same contractor, filed an extortion case against Sharma in faridabad on sep 24. Police says the probe has made little progress, an SIT is probing and they don't have any clue on Mr Sharma yet.
Raman Sharma is not the only one RTI activist who is unfortunately unsafe in his own country for exposing some murky wrong doings , the examples are galore. Now the question is # Are prayers enough @ RTI activists??!
