Dear Sir (Mission Director NMCG),We got forwarded to you by Deputy Director NRCD.As a quick introduction - We are a group of Indian technocrats based out of USA and India running BallotboxIndia.com - A platform of science and evidence based research with a focus on issues of systemic impact in India.During one of our research with Indian scientists and regional planning experts on fresh water systems in India, we discovered major interference with a fragile river ecology happening in Lucknow around River Gomti.We have built a research around the subject (attached a copy), documented evidence and video presentations on below online links(Also attached as PDF)1. Research & Evidences - http://ballotboxindia.com/agprofile/gomti/5182018549/?otp=7The biggest concerns are.- No data transparency by the Uttar Pradesh Government in disclosing environment assessment report and DPR on the project termed as "Gomti River Front Development". Our RTIs are pending since months.- Last report by IIT Roorkee (2013) on LDA request cautioned against bounding the river even under 250 Meter, which is now bound between 100-150 Meters inside 17 meter deep walls.- Instead of tackling the real issue of waste water, catchment area and a holistic river flow management, a mammoth, expensive construction work is going on quickly on the fragile river bed and flood plains which will have a disastrous impact on the population and the whole ecosystem dependent on Ganga Basin.We are reaching out to the National Mission to Clean Ganga with high hopes to take cognizance of this matter since river Gomti is an integral part of River Ganga and any interference with this massive system can mean major problems with River Ganga and its basin.PS- We have captured all the information and evidence in attached research and the video presentation (close to 23 minutes) in above links.
