Lucknow experienced vicious face of URBAN FLOODING
Yesterday, when season's first intense rain teemed down, city failed to handle it consequences. Relieving humidity and heat, the rains also caused tantrum to people of the city. With knee height water logged on streets, city's traffic moved at snail speed. City's cellular services and electric supply came to halt. Three causalities were reported in last day's turmoil.
It brought us to the reality of the city's drainage system. With drains choked with plastics and sewerage overflowing, the tattered position of the drainage networks is no more hidden and in a sense has alerted us for future upheaval.
