 इन्होने परिंदों की जवान समझने और बात-चीत करने के विकास में कामयाबी हासिल की। परिंदों के लिए उनकी शुरुआत उन्होने बचपन में ही हो गयी थी। जब इन्होने बचपन में ही कुरान में पैगम्बरों सोलो मैन की कहानी सुनी थी।

 उन्होने बताया कि इस की शुरुआत जब वह छोटे थे तो उन्होने कुरान में पैगम्बर सोलो मैन की कहानी सुनी वह परिंदों से बात किया करते थे तो उन्हे ऐसा लगा कि उन्हे भी परिंदों से बात करनी चाहिए, उनकी भाषा को समझना चाहिए, उनके व्यवहार को समझना चाहिए और उन्हे होने वाली परेशानियों को समझना चाहिए। तो उन्होने बचपन में ही तय कर लिया था उन्हे लाइफ साइंस में जाना है। यहां से सफर शुरु होता है।

 डा. उमर सैफ का कहना है कि 10 वर्ष की आयु से ही उन्होने परिंदों की देखभाल करना और उनके संरक्षण के लिए ही कार्य करना शुरु कर दिया था। हर वक्त उनके जनह में एक ही बात रहती परिंदे-परिंदे और उनकी भाषा को समझने का सफर शुरु कर दिया। इंनवारमेंट में पीजी करने के बाद उन्होने बायोअकौस्टिक विज्ञान का गहन अध्यन किया और उत्तर भारत में पाये जाने वाले खूबसूरत हौर्नविल को अपनी रिसर्च के लिए चुना। हौर्नविल के बारे में उन्होने बताया कि उन्होने उसकी अवाज को रिकार्ड किया फिर उन्होने बायोअकौस्टिक किया, करने के बाद कुछ स्पेशली सोफ्टवेयर में उन्हे सोनोग्राम बनाते है, सोनोग्राम बनाने के बाद जो चिड़िया आपस में बातचीत करती है जिन सिंगनलों का वह उपयोग करते हैं उन्हे हम सोनोग्राम में देख सकते हैं। फिर उन्होने इन सिंगनलों में अलग-अलग तोड़कर सुन और समझा।

 भारत में कुछ ही लोग है जिन्होने बायोअकौस्टिक विज्ञान के ऊपर कार्य कर रहे हैं। उन्ही में से एक हैं डा. उमर सैफ जिन्होने अपना जीवन परिंदों के नाम लिख दिया है। उनका कार्य यही नही थमा उन्होने परिंदों की अवाज को रिकार्ड करना शुरु किया। जिससे भारत में परिंदों की अवाजों की रिकार्डिंग का डेटा मिल सके और लोग उसके बाद लोग भी परिंदों की भाषा को समझे, उनके व्यवहार को जाने और उनकी परेशानियों की समझने का कार्य कर सकें।
