बिना किसी पद के मोह के सामाजसेवा की भावना से काम करने वाले अख्तर अली भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के एक सक्रिय नेता व कार्यकर्ता हैं. वह वाराणसी के रहने वाले हैं तथा वर्तमान में जिले के वार्ड – 23, जोल्हा दक्षिणी से उनकी पत्नी रेहाना जी कांग्रेस पार्षद के रूप में कार्यरत हैं. अख्तर जी अपनी पत्नी के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में वार्ड के विकास कार्यों में उनका सहयोग दे रहे हैं. वह दो बार से क्षेत्र से पार्षद चुने जा रहे हैं.

प्रमुख कार्य –

अब तक कराए गए विकास कार्यों पर अख्तर जी का कहना है कि सपा सरकार के कार्यकाल में उन्होंने बहुत से कार्य कराए थे, किन्तु वर्तमान में प्रयास करने के बावजूद प्रशासन व निगम का सहयोग न मिलने के कारण कोई विकास कार्य नहीं हो पा रहा. हालांकि त्योहारों पर वह वार्ड में साफ- सफाई, मरम्मत आदि से जुड़े छोटे – मोटे कार्य कराते रहते हैं.

वहीं क्षेत्र में 90 प्रतिशत दूषित पेयजल की सप्लाई की जा रही है. जिसके चलते उन्होंने नगर आयुक्त व महापौर से इसको लेकर बात भी की. अख्तर जी के मुताबिक, जिले में जल- कल विभाग सबसे अधिक निष्क्रिय है तथा इस विभाग की निष्क्रियता के चलते ही क्षेत्रवासियों को शुद्ध पेयजल नहीं मिल पा रहा है.

राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर विचार –

अख्तर अली जी का मानना है कि राजनेताओं को जनता को जाति- धर्म के आधार पर नहीं बांटना चाहिए, क्यों कि लोगों की भावनाओं अथवा किसी भी धार्मिक मुद्दे का राजनीतिकरण किया जाना भविष्य में देश के लिए खतरनाक साबित हो सकता है.
