रानीगंज बिहार के अररिया जिले में एक ब्लॉक है। इसमें 32 पंचायतें हैं। यह अररिया जिले के सबसे बड़े ब्लॉकों में से एक है। 2015 के बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव में, जदयू के अचमित ऋषिदेव ने भाजपा के रामजी दास ऋषिदेव को हराया। यहां केवल एक कॉलेज है जो स्नातक स्तर की डिग्री प्रदान करता है उसका नाम कलावती डिग्री कॉलेज है। रानीगंज-फोर्ब्सगंज रोड पर स्थित है। यहां पर कुछ सरकारी हाई स्कूल हैं जो बाजार में स्थित हैं। लालजी हाई स्कूल, बीएलडी हाई स्कूल, कलावती गर्ल्स हाई स्कूल उनमें से प्रसिद्ध हैं। कुछ अन्य निजी स्कूल मुख्य रूप से बाजार क्षेत्र में स्थित हैं। रानीगंज सड़क मार्ग द्वारा जिला और आयुक्त मुख्यालय से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ है। इसमें रानीगंज-अररिया सड़क पर एक निर्दिष्ट बस स्टैंड है। इसका कोई रेलवे स्टेशन नहीं है। निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन अररिया आरएस है। अररिया जो रानीगंज ब्लॉक से लगभग 30 किमी दूर है, सीमांचल प्रयोग द्वारा नई दिल्ली से जुड़ा हुआ है। अररिया जिला भारत के बिहार राज्य के अड़तीस जिलों में से एक है। अररिया जिला पूर्णिया प्रमंडल का एक हिस्सा है। जिले का एक क्षेत्र 2830 वर्ग किमी है। अररिया शहर इस जिले का प्रशासनिक मुख्यालय है। अररिया लोकसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र पूर्वी भारत में बिहार राज्य के 40 लोकसभा (संसदीय) निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में से एक है। यह अनारक्षित है। 2011 के अनुसार अररिया जिले की कुल जनसंख्या 2811569 है, साक्षरता दर 53.53% है। अररिया का प्रसिद्ध गाँव देहती है। यह बिहार के 36 जिलों में से एक है जो वर्तमान में पिछड़े क्षेत्र अनुदान निधि कार्यक्रम से धन प्राप्त कर रहा है। अररिया जिले की जनसंख्या में मुसलमानों की बड़ी संख्या है।
